If somebody mentions to me benches, the image that immediately comes to my mind is the benches that are available in Kindergarten and prep schools where children are provided with benches to sit on.

Well how would it be if you had a bench that could convert itself to two chairs. Well thats just what these guys have done. They have gone ahead and made detachable benches. When it is a bench, you can sleep on it, or put it in your garden to have a relaxing moment with your loved one, if you have guests visiting you, this can provide you with that extra furniture to allow that person to sit.

You can arrange the individual chairs in such a way that you can give a coarse look on the edges or you can give a smooth edge finish. This is indeed a very creative and a well thought out idea.

CoolThings.com posted about a beer keg barstool yesterday on April Fool’s, but we don’t think this boozy piece of furniture is anybody’s joke. Said masterpiece is formally called the KegStool, and you can order one for yourself at www.KegFun.com.

For $99, you get the KegStool kit, which includes everything except the titular keg and some necessary elbow grease. If you’re lazy (or drunk), you can save yourself the hassle by ordering a pre-built KegStool for $100 more.

The writers at CoolThings lamented the KegStool‘s lack of functionality, but we think it’s still pretty neat.

Weird Furniture: The Hamburger Bed

Meet the Hamburger Bed, the brainchild of a crafty burger enthusiast in Texas. This existential creation challenges our dietary norms, raising questions like “Who’s eating who?” and “Where’s the ketchup?” Also, it’s apparently very comfortable.

According to the creator, Kayla, the hamburger bed is composed of the following:

circular bed + box frame (circa the ’70s)
light brown fabric
slightly darker light brown fabric
dark brown king-sized fitted sheet
yellow, green king-sized sheets (skip the yellow if you don’t want a cheeseburger)
30 or so pillows
“a couple of zippers”
pantyhose (to fashion sesame seeds)
