I’d get up and stretch and roll my shoulders back and hear my sternum crack. I’d shift from side to side in my chair, sliding down to relieve the pressure in my seat, and then pick myself up again when I started to reach for the keyboard. Every afternoon around two o’clock, I’d stand and bounce my hands to my toes and hold it for a few seconds. It never occurred to me it might be the chair.

Then someone told me that my posture wasn’t looking too great. I was slumping and my shoulders sagged and I wasn’t standing up to my normal height. He asked about where I sit and what kind of chair I use. I told him just an office chair. He said, you may want to think about getting a new one.

I started to think about it and realized that my work chair really didn’t have any back support. It was cushioned sure, but it encouraged my slump. I looked around on the internet and found a new chair from Acisco, an office furniture company. Now I notice I don’t have to stretch as much and my posture is better. Whaddaya know?

It is not actually a far-fetched idea. Maybe the boss has one inside his office where he can sit and relax if he suddenly decides not to use his thinking chair. The bean bag then serves as his “relaxing chair”. Yet in some offices, most especially those with modern designs, bean bags have easily found there place as it now takes the place of chairs in the setting. It can be used as chairs in the weighting room, or even in the lounging room where employees relax and engage in a light conversation. Though it may seem odd to have one, bean bags have evolved into different sizes and forms, why, even a whole couch can be made into a bean bag! So will a bean bag fit right into an office? Sure it will. After all, we are living in the modern age, aren’t we?

It is where I do my relaxing and hard thinking when faced with problems and issues that need to be resolved. There can be no other chair which offers the same comfort and satisfaction which I get to experience when I sit on my very own Lazyboy recliner. It is the only way to live comfortably. I would also suggest that you get one too, if you want to rest those frazzled nerves or if you want to take a short power nap. Quality and comfort, this is what a Lazyboy recliner can easily give you. It will help you recharge and give that much needed energy to face the day.

Such injuries in the long-term can lead to disabilities. There are various models of office chairs that have been designed to provide comfort to those working.

The designs of these chairs ensure that the correct sitting posture is maintained and less weight is given to the spinal cord, and more pressure on to the seating area. There are chairs that come with mesh back, so that there is flow of air at the back and this helps preventing sweating while sitting down on the office chairs.

A person who has a desk job on a computer has to spend quite a lot of time sitting down and does not necessarily have sufficient exercise thus the stress / pressure given to the back will be quite high. Thus having an ergonomic chair will help the person relax even though having to sit in the same place for quite some time.

A company called Wilkhahn created a calorie-burning piece of office (or home office) furniture called the ON Chair. This baby offers a full range of motion, allowing you to move forwards, backwards, and side-to-side, putting your knees and hips to work while you toil at your desk. Check out the video above to watch people try the ON on for size.

The ON Chair can activate your metabolic system (so says a German health institute) and prevent pain, improve posture, cure cancer, etc. Plus, it maintains a stable center of gravity the whole time, meaning you never have to worry about falling over – which, we’ll admit, we were worried about.

The ON Chair cost $850 as of last fall – would your boss cover that?
