stack system

It takes a true genius to make filing interesting, and that pretty much sums up Alessandro Zambelli. Not to mention his Stack storage system.

Part of an exhibit in Milan Design Week, the Stack system boasts a hodgepodge of vintage filing cabinets, lockers, and cubbies encompassing the indifferent metal and almost-pretty colors reminiscent of days gone be. Even kids that have been stuffed in lockers will appreciate this one.

papasan chairA Pier 1 staple since the chain opened its doors in 1962, the Papasan Chair is a unique piece furniture that’s easy to love — and fall asleep in. (Just look at that cat!)

Also called a dish chair or moon chair, this neat seating option is ideal for dorm rooms, bedrooms, living rooms, and even outdoor use. The base and bowl are typically made of rattan (a type of palm), however outdoor models are produced using iron.

To share the love, Pier 1 also carries a double Papasan Chair in an oblong shape.

Hug Chair Hug Chair

We love this Hug Chair designed by Cate & Nelson, a find on mocoloco.com. This baby makes furniture shipping a breeze, as it can be unbuttoned to form a flat shape. Neat!

modern furniture

PadStyle.com turned us onto LTD Mod, a neat modern furniture company that makes nature look sleeker than ever before. We love the Delta “low profile” platform bed above, crafted out subtly distressed acacia mangium wood that would be easy to design an entire room around.

urban outfitters bench urban outfitters chair

Urban Outfitters is many a young person’s go-to destination for skinny jeans and raunchy coffee table books, but the opportunities don’t end there — visit a large store (or the website), and you can buy the coffee table as well!

Let’s take a look at some of our favorite urban Outfitters pieces:

Haruki Slat Bench
Whether you’re looking for a place to sit or simply to store the aforementioned raunchy literature, this Urban Outfitters bench is sure to oblige. We love it in front of the couch in the living room, against the wall in the entryway, or even at the foot of the bed.

Dolce Chair
Treat your tush to something fabulous with this chunky chair in tweed. Stick it in the corner of a room as a classy accent piece, or plant in front of a desk to get down to business.

indoor hammocks

Can you say “relaxation”? We would, but we’re too comfortable. That’s because we’ve got indoor hammocks on the brain.

If you’re looking to spice up an area of your home or apartment, indoor hammocks are the way to go. Available in tons of styles and sizes, hammocks can fit almost any space. Whether you’re looking for a place to sit, lounge, or even sleep, there’s a hammock out there with your ideal level of comfort.

Choose a ceiling-, rafter-, or wall-mounted hammock for a permanent addition to your home, or invest in a low-maintenance hammock with a stand. You can opt for bright colors, fluffy cushions, authentic ropes, or anything in between.

kegstool

CoolThings.com posted about a beer keg barstool yesterday on April Fool’s, but we don’t think this boozy piece of furniture is anybody’s joke. Said masterpiece is formally called the KegStool, and you can order one for yourself at www.KegFun.com.

For $99, you get the KegStool kit, which includes everything except the titular keg and some necessary elbow grease. If you’re lazy (or drunk), you can save yourself the hassle by ordering a pre-built KegStool for $100 more.

The writers at CoolThings lamented the KegStool’s lack of functionality, but we think it’s still pretty neat.
